More Surprise House

December and the holidays kept us very busy, so I am just now catching up on my blogging. I'll pick up where I left off....with more fun from the Surprise House.

December 9
"Play in the snow" - This morning we woke up to about 2 inches of snow on the ground, so the day's Surprise House activity was a no-brainer. And, of course, the kids just had to have hot chocolate when they came back in.

December 10
"Eat Christmas ice cream" - Sadie had missed out on this earlier due to behavioral issues. However, on this day Parker was the one with behavioral issues, so it was the perfect time to re-do this particular activity.

December 11
"Watch 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'" - The kids love anything Dr. Seuss, so this was a big hit.

December 12
"Read 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'" - This year Parker learned pretty much the entire Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer song, so they were excited to read the book.

December 13
"Drive around and look at Christmas lights" - This is definitely one of our very favorite things to do at Christmastime. Add in PJs, hot chocolate, and Christmas music and you've got a perfect evening.

December 14
"Make Christmas cookies" - Yummy! This day was particularly meaningful as we learned of the school shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. We spent the evening cuddling our kiddos, truly focused on what is important, and grieved for the families who no longer had the opportunity to do so themselves.
