Mother's Day and a visit from Nonni!

We celebrated a lazy Mother's Day this year. I was able to sleep in later than I've slept in in a very long time....what more could I really want?? It was totally worth it, even if I did sleep through my traditional breakfast in bed. As it turned out, the weather outside was really cold and it was snowing (yes, snowing) for most of the day so it was the perfect day to just take it easy and relax. Andrew's mom was also in town, and we all went out to eat for a yummy lunch.

Me with my favorite boy and favorite girl in the world.
All of us.
In addition to being here for Sadie's party and Mother's Day, Nonni was also able to stay for several days and the kids couldn't wait for her to watch them play soccer.

Nonni also read lots of books and played LOTS of games with the kiddos while she was here. Here they are playing somewhere near their 100th game of Crazy 8s.
Saying good-bye to Nonni....

Can't wait to see you again, Nonni!

Sadie's "Queen Elsa" birthday party!

For her 5th birthday, Sadie insisted on having a "Queen Elsa" party. Every time I referred to it as a "Frozen" party, she corrected me and reiterated that it was going to be a Queen Elsa party. So that's just what she got.

The table is set!
Gigantic Elsa balloon....Sadie was stoked!
I found these water bottle labels on Etsy, and printed them off myself. They said "Melted Snowflakes".
Eating some pizza for dinner!
Sadie and her sweet friend, Charity! Time to open presents....

Sadie got some super fun presents, many having to do with Queen Elsa of course! Next it was time for cupcakes....
....and an ice cream bar!
The look on Sadie's face as we were singing "Happy Birthday to You".
Blowing out her candle!

Sadie was so excited that Nonni was here for her party!

Sadie turns F-I-V-E!

Last week we celebrated Sadie's 5th birthday. How this baby girl of mine has grown into a little-girl-no-longer-a-toddler I have absolutely no idea. *Tear* She was soooooo excited for her birthday, and here she is going to bed for the very last time as a four-year-old.
Since her birthday fell on a Wednesday and we were having her party on Saturday, she only had one present to open on her birthday.

It was a new outfit complete with jewelry and shoes....she loved it!
Beautiful birthday girl!
Hanging with brother!
It just so happened that Muffins with Mom was on Sadie's birthday, so off we headed to Parker's school for breakfast. Sadie told anyone that spoke to her that it was her birthday.

After breakfast, Sadie and I headed off to work where Sadie got to play with some of her friends. Daddy even came to take her to lunch and brought her birthday flowers. When we got home that afternoon, she insisted that the flowers go in her room.
After school we headed off to Sadie's pick, Chuck E. Cheese's. We had a blast!

Checking out what they wanted to get with our tickets....
....Parker got these glasses, and Sadie got a bracelet and a ring.
And we all had to try out the glasses, of course!

Back at home we had birthday cupcakes....

....before baths and bedtime. This picture was Sadie's first picture as a 5-year-old. Since she was born at 7:12 p.m., most of her birthday goes by before she actually gets older. She was so proud to finally be FIVE!
Stay tuned for an upcoming post about her party....
