Company and Colorful Colorado

Earlier this month, Andrew's mom came for a visit. The kids were thrilled to play games, read, and spend lots of time time with Nonni. She even watched the kids so Andrew and I were able to *gasp* go out on a date! We also took a drive up into the mountains to see the changing colors of the trees, and, in the process, enjoyed a magnificent sunset.

On the way back, the sky looked like it was on fire. Just beautiful!
That evening, the kids had a sleepover in Sadie's bed.
Success!

Parker is 6!

Parker turned 6 two days ago, and we spent the whole day celebrating. I am still trying to figure out how my baby is six years old!

Last picture as a 5-year-old!
First picture as a 6-year-old! Parker woke up to balloons all over his room and hanging from his doorway, and rushed into our room super early to tell us all about it.
Chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. He even got a special birthday pancake with a "6" on it!
After breakfast, Parker opened some cards that had come in the mail.
Money!
We got ready and took Parker shopping to spend his birthday money. After deciding on some fun toys, we headed to McDonald's for birthday lunch!

Next, it was time to go home and get ready for his Spiderman birthday party! Parker had been talking about having a Spiderman party since his last birthday, and could hardly believe that it was finally here.

Balloons!
Spiderman even came and spun a web in the kitchen!
Spider cheeseball.
Parker picked out the cake himself.
Spider jello.
Ready to party!
Sadie was excited for brother.
Letting in his "guests".
Some party guests.
Present time!

Now time to sing to the birthday boy!
Yummy!

Happy birthday to me!

On the 27th of September, I celebrated my 32nd birthday. It was a fun day, and Andrew and the kids got me flowers, some fun presents, and we celebrated that evening just the way I wanted to....low-key and at home with dinner and a movie. The next evening my cousin Stephanie and her family took us out to dinner and we had such a fun time!

BFFs!
After dinner, we went to BJ's Velvet Freez Drive In for some ice cream. What a fun place! The kids were super excited.
