Balloon Festival Fun!

Over Labor Day weekend, we went to the hot air balloon festival that is held in the Springs. Sadly, after 38 years of being an annual tradition here in town, this year was the last year it will be in Colorado Springs due to "city politics". We are very much bummed about this, so along with some of our good friends we were especially excited to get up bright and early this year for the balloon launch.

The weather was perfect, and we had a fantastic time. And just for fun, a few days later we had a hot air balloon go right over our house! 

Last trip of Summer....

The weekend after school started, we took one last trip to the Buena Vista area and spent the weekend with Andrew's grandparents and cousin, Sage. While there we went to the banks of the Arkansas River. The water was very cold, but it didn't stop us from getting our feet wet.

We then checked out some old tunnels nearby....very cool!

We also spent some time fishing. Both of the kids mastered fishing on their own this summer, and they just can't get enough of it.

It was a nice, relaxing trip, and we are already looking forward to gong back next year!
