Swimming!

Yesterday we spent the day at my cousin's house. We had a really fun time, and the kids loved swimming in their neighborhood pool.

Fun with friends and Happy Birthday, Andrew!

Last weekend we had the pleasure of having our long-time friends, Mike and Jasie, come for a visit. We had such a good time while they were here! On Saturday, we decided to go to the Denver Aquarium and everyone had a great time. Here are some pictures from our time there....

Sadie wasn't in the greatest mood, but she loved the fish.

So much fun!
Looking at the sharks.
All of us!
Sunday was the day before Andrew's birthday and while the guys were out running around, Jasie and I stayed home and made some cupcakes for a surprise celebration that evening. Jasie and her mom run a small cupcake business, so she showed me all the great tricks to perfect cupcake making!

Jasie icing the mint chocolate chip cupcakes....
....and me adding the chopped Andes mints to the top!
We also made vanilla cupcakes, and here are both ready to serve! Aren't they pretty?
Andrew sure was surprised when his cousin, Sage, and our friends, Corey and Blythe, arrived that night! We had a really great time, and stayed up way too late....what could be better? Here is Andrew blowing out his candle after we sang "Happy birthday".
The kids loved their cupcakes!

Ahoy, Mateys!

Yesterday, our family spent the morning and early afternoon at a water park in Englewood called Pirate's Cove. It is especially geared towards kids with many areas being somewhere between only 6 inches and 40 inches deep. We had such a great time even though I came away with a sunburn and a slightly bruised ego from a rather ungraceful 'entrance' into the lazy river. Everyone else came away fairly unscathed, though, so it's all good. Here are some snapshots from our day!

Checking out the Spray Ground.
Parker running through the Spray Ground.
Checking out one of the "pools".
View of some of the play structure. The big bucket on top fills up slowly and dumps out when it is full.

Eating lunch. Happy Sadie....
....and whiny Parker. If I didn't know better, I'd think someone switch their personalities yesterday.
Still eating.

Sadie ready to get back out there!
Parker still in a bad mood.
Playing on the "Beach".
