Happy Resurrection Day!

So today is Easter Sunday! Love this holiday because it truly represents what we believe and why we believe. We were unable to go to church today because Sadie was/is still not feeling well, so we decided to make it a stay-at-home family day. It looked like this outside....
....which made the decision to stay inside an obvious one. We started off with a breakfast of biscuits and gravy -- yummy!
As you can see, Sadie was not in the greatest mood.
After breakfast and baths, it was time for the kids to open their Easter packages. Parker was SO excited about his "dollar" from his Papa and Gram....
....and so was Sadie!
Next up was a bucket of items from Grandma and Poppy. Included in those items were magnetic writing tablets (for lack of something better to call them)....
....and chocolate bunnies!
Last was a package from Nonni containing jelly beans, animal magnets....
....and three different card games!
The kids enjoyed putting the animals on the fridge.

Then it was time for peeps, also from Grandma and Poppy. Parker loved them....
....but Sadie mostly played with hers.
We then spent a while playing Go Fish and Candyland.
After we finished playing games, it was time to make some Easter cookies.

After finishing up with the cookies and eating a light lunch, it was time for a much-needed nap for Sadie and resting time for Parker. We finished off the day with a yummy dinner of chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes. I love days like today because for a short while you get to forget about the busyness of life. Now, on to another week....

Easter egg hunt!

Has it really been over a month since I posted on here??? Oh, well, you know what they say....time flies when you're stinking busy. Anyway, earlier today we set up an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos. We were going to wait until tomorrow, but the weather was supposed to be bad....and indeed, there is snow covering the ground as I write this. The kids had a blast even though Sadie is a bit under the weather. Poor girl....seems like she's had one thing or another all winter long! Here are some pictures of the fun....

Waiting at the door....
On the hunt!

Andrew and I with each of the kids....

Back inside, Parker and Sadie were excited to see what "treats" were inside the eggs!

We also have some festivities planned for tomorrow (assuming Sadie Lady is feeling better) so stay tuned!
