Mother's Day, Father's Day, and in between....

So it's been a while again since I've posted. Gotta stay more on top of it! Anyhoo....

Mother's Day
I had a great Mother's Day! These Bedhead Bandits brought me breakfast in bed....

....and also gave me a great card and some fun gifts!
Love these cuties!
We also ate at one of our favorite restaurants, Qdoda. What a special day!

Memorial Day Weekend
We had contemplated going out of town over Memorial Day weekend, but instead decided to stay home and take care of some projects around the house with Andrew's extra day off. We did, however, make it up to my cousin Stephanie's house for a fun-filled afternoon.

The kids and dads ready to go on a hike. *Stephanie and opted to skip the hike and have some mommy time in their hot tub which was soooooo nice and relaxing.*

After getting back from their hike, the kids spent a little time swinging on a tree swing that Stephanie's husband, Troy, made for their boys. They had a blast.

Company
A couple of weeks ago, Andrew's grandparents were in town for a visit. We always have a great time when they are here!

Father's Day
Father's Day was this past weekend, and we had a fun day celebrating Daddy! Here is Daddy opening his special card that the kiddos were so excited to give him.
Kisses for Daddy.
Looking at Daddy's annual Father's Day present....a scrapbook of the previous year.
So glad these 3 are mine!
We went to Andrew's favorite restaurant, On the Border, for lunch!
We LOVE Daddy!

A three-year-old girl....

Yesterday was Sadie's 3rd birthday, and here are a few pictures to bring you up to speed.

Sadie's birth day!
One year old.
Big 2-year-old!
3 years old! *She wouldn't put her new Rapunzel music box down for anything*
Pictures of Sadie with Bubby, Daddy, and Mommy on her birthday....

The weather was really yucky outside yesterday so we mostly stayed around the house, which worked out well since we were all pretty tired from our busy weekend. However, we did go out to lunch with Daddy at Sadie's choice, Chick-fil-A.
For dinner we had chicken and noodles, one of Sadie's favorite meals, followed up with ice cream and "cup-capes". It was a nice, relaxing way to end her fun birthday weekend!

It's party time....Rapunzel style!

We celebrated Sadie's 3rd birthday yesterday with a party fit for a princess! This is the first year that she's been really aware of what it means to have a birthday, and she was very excited to celebrate turning 3.
Sadie's all-time favorite character/movie/topic/thing is Rapunzel from the movie "Tangled", so I knew months ago what her birthday party theme would be. After some internet searches, I found some super fun ideas that I used to pull it off. I found a paper lantern garland that captured the floating lantern scene.
Strung around the table was a very long yellow yarn braid that sounds easy to make, wasn't, and was still totally worth it in the end as it turned out super cute!
Rapunzel's tower. I never thought I was crafty, but as it turns out I can totally follow someone else's creative instructions. Just love how this turned out.
Little jello boats.
Cupcakes!
Sadie was very excited to open her presents. Unlike most kids who just rip into presents and move immediately on to the next one, Sadie really took her time and checked out most of her gifts before moving on.
The kiddos checking out her new Rapunzel blanket for a big girl bed!
Trying on her new jewelry.
Her first cabbage patch doll!
New skirt, tiara, jewelry, shoes, and wand. Have you ever seen anything more girly in your life?
Party guests!
Our family!
Ready to blow out her candles and have a cupcake.
Last but not least, a super cute video of us singing "Happy Birthday to You"!

Fun with Grandpa!

Andrew's dad was in town this weekend, and we had a great time while he was here!

Sadie and Grandpa in the back yard....
Movie time! Watching "Tangled".
Just hanging out before breakfast.
Grandpa wanted to take the kids horseback riding, so after some calling around we headed to Academy Riding Stables. The kids were sooooooo pumped!

Waiting for their horses....

Sadie on her horse, Little Bit.
Parker on his horse, Taz.
I thought that the kids might be a little intimidated since riding horses is different than talking about riding horses, but they weren't the slightest bit nervous. It was such a fun thing to see their excitement!

After riding, they each picked out a hat and toy horse. Thank you, Grandpa!
And here is a short video of the kids on their horses!
