This little piggy....

So anyone who knows Sadie very well knows that when it comes to growing hair, she doesn't seem to be very good at it. However, at long last, her hair is finally long enough for pig tails! Well, it's not really long enough all around her head, but I can at least pull some of it up. It's so cute I can hardly stand it!

She seemed to understand that it was really special and "big girl" and didn't even try to mess with them....VERY unusual behavior for her.
Side view....
....and from the top.
Of course, Parker couldn't be outdone and had to have a picture taken of his head, too.
They are growing up so fast!

Weekend fun

This weekend has been pretty warm, so Andrew set up the pool in the backyard yesterday for the kiddos to play in.

I'm not sure that Sadie knew what was going on since she was still so young last year, but she was excited for whatever was coming!
Parker knew what was coming and was definitely excited!
Look at the fun set-up Daddy came up with!
Sadie getting in the pool with some help from Daddy.
So much fun!
Little fishies!
Shooting water guns at us.
Follow up swimming with a backyard picnic and resting time for the kids/movie time for Mommy and Daddy, and it doesn't get much better than that! And just for fun, here are a couple pictures of the kids from today. They both love playing dress-up and spent quite a bit of time this afternoon doing just that. Here is Parker, the Superhero (sometimes he even calls himself "SuperParker")....
....and Sadie wearing, well, a little bit of everything. Dress, skirt, pilot's hat, backpack AND purse, and of course the big "cheese!" look/smile on her face. What can I say -- she's a child of much personality!

Happy Dad's Day!

My parents were still in town on Father's Day, and we had such a great day!

The kids were so excited for Daddy to come downstairs....

"Happy Father's Day!"
Watching Poppy open his gifts.

Opening Daddy's card.

We went to Red Lobster for lunch, and the kids couldn't get enough of the live lobsters. Unfortunately, one of these little critters was hand-picked by a dad at one of our neighboring tables. Ick.
The dads.

It was Grandma and Poppy's last day in town, and we were sad to see them go!

Busy times!

I know, I know....it's been a long time since I've blogged, but I promise I have a good reason -- we have been stinking busy! In the last three weeks, I have helped throw a baby shower for a good friend, Andrew and I attended a lovely wedding, we put on a *gigantic* garage sale, and Andrew's grandparents and my parents have all been to visit us. Who knew that June would be this busy? Anyway, we are getting back in the normal routine of things, so it's time to catch you all back up. Mom and Dad just left this morning after a 10-day stay. As I already mentioned, we had a big garage sale while they were here, and they were such a big help with it. (Somehow I didn't get a SINGLE picture taken of it. What?!?!) Dad and Andrew also installed an attic fan which we already love and are wondering why we didn't do it several years ago. We also had a lot of fun while they were here. Mom and Dad were anxious to watch Parker play soccer....

Mom and I took the kids for Happy Meals....

Mom, Dad, the kids, and I all went to see "Rango" one day....

We made good use of our new patio set....
And we had a boys/girls day. The boys went fishing and the girls went shopping. Everyone had a great time!

We also enjoyed a family cookout at my aunt's house!
