Throwback Thursday

Last year, my cousin Stephanie and her family invited us to come and sled at a hill near their mountain home....

All bundled up and ready to go...
Striking some kind of pose
Andrew and Parker after their first run
I didn't get to sled because I had a Sadie-sized bun in the oven at the time, but I was on hand to watch....

Throwback Thursday

Babies grow up so fast that it's hard to remember where they started out. Here is a picture of 4-day-old Sadie....didn't she look so girly even as a newborn? Also, as a side note, I took her for her 9 month check-up this week, and she weighed in at 15 lbs. 4 oz. putting her at only the 3rd percentile. This means that with 97 percent of girls her age weighing more than her, she's our pretty little peanut.

Throwback Thursday (one day late)

One year ago this week, Parker broke his left collarbone falling down some stairs. The doctors could do nothing to cast this arm so I don't have any pictures to really tell the story, but we did take him out for his very first Happy Meal after finding out what was wrong. It cheered us all up and really....what else were we to do with our poor little baby???

Throwback Thursday

For my Throwback Thursday post this week, I thought I'd put up a picture of Parker at the same age as Sadie is right now. Wasn't he cute? Check out all the hair compared to his sissy! As I was looking through old pictures, I also noticed that he was WILLINGLY sitting up and also up on all fours ready to crawl. I guess Sadie is just taking her own path to growing up....

Throwback Thursday

When we found out we were expecting Baby Strait #2, we used some pictures to tell some of our family members.

Don't you love his wedgie?
The shirt tells the story....

Throwback Thursday

Exactly seven years ago today, Andrew got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. This picture was taken of us that night....

Throwback Thursday

So I've decided that I'm going to completely steal an idea from my cousin. A couple of weeks ago, she started doing "Favorite Photo Friday" and posting a fun picture from the distant or recent past each Friday. I love the idea, so here's my version....

From before we even got married in July 2003 until Spring of 2006, Andrew was a youth and college pastor. Much of our time was spent at the church or doing fun activities with one of those groups. One Saturday, we planned a spelunking trip with some of our college group. (Spelunking is defined as the hobby or practice of exploring caves.... I just googled it.) Sounds like fun, huh? Too bad we didn't consider the recent rain that had fallen in our area. Here is a picture of our group before our little adventure:
And here is a picture of us AFTER....
That was, without a doubt, the muddiest experience of my life. I can't even describe the mud. I don't think any of us even tried to save our clothes. What a memory....
