~Halloween 2014~

Halloween was a busy, fun-filled day! The kids had decided long before Halloween that they wanted to be Hercules and Elsa, respectively. Their class parties at school were that morning, so they were even allowed to wear their costumes to school.

Parker at his class party.
Sadie at her class party.

I was able to volunteer to help in Sadie's class.
Later that evening, it was time to trick or treat. For several years now we have spent Halloween with our good friends, the Winkelmanns. It's a fun tradition that we all look forward to.
Hercules, Elsa, and Anna are ready to go!

They are pros!

After filling their buckets, we finished up the evening with a movie, chili, and cinnamon rolls. Until next year!

Lightning McQueen and Belle

This year we spent Halloween with our friends, Corey and Blythe, and their sweet little girl (and kitty cat), Charity. Here are each of our families ready to go!
Our family with our little Lightning McQueen and Belle!
The kids loved trick-or-treating!
After we were done trick-or-treating, we all watched Monsters University and enjoyed a yummy dinner of soup and cheesy bread. It was the perfect evening with family and friends!

Spiderman and Rapunzel

Parker and Sadie were so excited for Halloween this year. Their costumes had been picked out a couple of months ago, and they could hardly contain their excitement when the day finally arrived!

Ready to trick-or-treat!
With Daddy!
Me and my sweet girl.
My favorite little family!
Cousins A and Z went trick-or-treating with us! This is the meeting of the minds.
White tiger, Darth Vader, Spiderman, and Rapunzel....all ready to go.
My cousin Stephanie with her boys!
And they're off!
Waiting at a door.

Mickey and Minnie

This past Monday was Halloween. The last couple of years we've spent the evening with our good friends, but this year they were busy with their beautiful 4-day-old baby girl! The kids still had a great time trick-or-treating, and were so excited to get dressed up. Here they are all ready to go....
All of us before heading out!

Sadie is excited to get to the next house....
....and so is Parker!
Waiting!
We had a fun time, as usual, and can't wait to do it again next year!

Meet Jack and Jill!

Last night we carved the pumpkins that we brought home from the pumpkin patch. We had never done this before with the kids and it's been years since Andrew or I had done it either, so we had such a fun time showing the kids what it was all about. We were also glad that Grandma and Poppy were still here to participate in all the fun.

The kids excited to get started!
Taking the "hat" off.
Parker had to have a turn, too.
Dad and Andrew digging out the seeds.

Sadie was happy to get in on it....
....but Parker would NOT touch any of it and would only help clean it out with a spoon.
It took a lot of scraping to get everything out!

Time to draw on the faces!

The kids were more than happy to take turns pulling out pieces as they were cut.

Working on the next one.
Waiting for Daddy to finish carving. Sadie with Poppy....
....and Parker with Gram.
All done! Here's Jack....
....and Jill!
Aren't they cute? The kids were sooooooo excited when we turned off the lights after lighting the candles inside!

And to finish off our evening, the kids watching Tangled and eating popcorn....
....and the grown-ups playing cards!
We are so glad that Grandma and Poppy were able to come and spend some time with us, and we're always sad to see them go. Until next time!
