4th of July Fun!

The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays, and this year was no exception. My parents were also in town, so we had a fun time celebrating together. We decided to go a fireworks show on the 3rd at our local minor league baseball stadium, and the kids were so excited. There ended up being a lightning delay and the show that was supposed to start just after 10:00 started just before 11:00, but we still had a great time.

On the 4th we celebrated at home!

The kids had sno-cones outside with Grandma and Poppy.....

....and we also made some yummy, festive foods!

The boys even watched some World Cup games.

We ended the day doing a few small fireworks in our driveway, and a good time was had by all!

Independence Day Weekend

We spent the weekend of the 4th having fun with Andrew's grandparents, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Steve, and cousin Sage near Buena Vista, Colorado!

The were no fireworks due to burn bans in the area, but the kids loved the "light show" (disco ball) and dance party!

On the way back down, we passed this bench and Parker asked why there were words on it. After I explained to him that people had carved their names into it, he wanted his name carved in it, too. So Daddy pulled out his knife and went to work.
