Back-to-School Happenings

School has been in full swing for a month now....so hard to believe! Parker was excited about going to 2nd grade, and Sadie was beyond thrilled to be starting Kindergarten. She only goes half day which is just fine with me. My babies are growing up too fast as it is!  Here are a few things that we've already done this year....

Parker's Back-to-School Night
Parker was really excited to meet his new teacher, Mrs. Ferris, and see his new classroom!
At his desk!

Kindergarten Info and Ice Cream Social
Sadie could hardly contain her excitement about going to meet her teacher, Mrs. Coleman (also Parker's kindergarten teacher!), and see her classroom! Here she is with her school supplies.
Sadie's desk!

Working on a little project....
Listening to a story!
So proud of our big (baby) girl!

Enjoying her popsicle that she chose!

The night before school started, we had a pizza/movie party. This is always one of the kids' favorite things to do "as a family".

First Day of School
At long last....the first day of school was here! Breakfast of champions!
All ready to go!
Sadie, 5 years old, Kindergarten!
Parker, 7 years old, 2nd grade!
Took some family shots before heading to their line-ups!

Grandpa was still in town for Andrew's birthday, so he was also there to see the kids off!
In her line and all ready to go....no tears for Sadie!

Parker ready to go....my big boy!

Andrew and I took Sadie out to lunch after she finished her first day!

Field Trip
Parker has already had a field trip that Andrew was able to chaperone. They went to a local pizza place and learned how a restaurant works behind the scenes. They also got to make and eat some pizza!

And last but not least, Andrew snapped this shot of Sadie just this week....always runs to Mom or Dad as soon as she is out the door.

So far, everything is going well and we are looking forward to lots of fun things that are coming up. I also volunteer in both of their classrooms on Monday mornings, and I very much enjoy getting to see them in their environments. So proud of my babies!
