Day in Estes Park!

The weather here lately has been unusually warm and mild for March, and we have been taking advantage by spending time outside. This past weekend we went on a day trip up to Estes Park and had so much fun just taking our time and relaxing as we walked around town.
On the riverwalk.

There was a playground that we stopped at for a while, and the kids had a great time getting out some energy.

The kids, Parker especially, have been obsessed with having a "rock collection" lately so we let the kids pick out a few rocks at one of the shops. Doesn't everybody remember doing this as a child? So fun to let our kids do it, too.

After stopping to get some ice cream, we went to check out Lily Lake which was recommended to us by a local. It was a pretty little lake with a walking trail that went all the way around it.

Little dolls!

Even though the weather has been super mild, some of the trail was still covered with snow.
After leaving the lake, we took a scenic drive back towards home. It is so much fun to live so close to what most people consider vacation destinations. We are already planning more trips like this as summer is quickly approaching!
