Candles and Colors

Last month I turned 34. Thirty-four. I don't begrudge my age.... it's just that it doesn't seem quite possible. At any rate, we had a nice quiet day at home. My favorite.

The next day we took advantage of some beautiful weather and drove up into the mountains to check out the fall colors -- one of our favorite annual traditions. The colors this year were fantastic, and pictures certainly don't do them justice.

We also wandered around Theresa Mine near Victor.

Balloon Festival Fun!

Over Labor Day weekend, we went to the hot air balloon festival that is held in the Springs. Sadly, after 38 years of being an annual tradition here in town, this year was the last year it will be in Colorado Springs due to "city politics". We are very much bummed about this, so along with some of our good friends we were especially excited to get up bright and early this year for the balloon launch.

The weather was perfect, and we had a fantastic time. And just for fun, a few days later we had a hot air balloon go right over our house!
